Municipal Credit Union
Talisen Construction took on the ambitious project of fully rebuilding the Municipal Credit Union (MCU) Flagship in Queens, with a primary focus on ensuring a premium level of security.
Given that MCU is a full-service financial institution, the renovation required extensive security measures beyond the typical standards. This project, in partnership with TPG Architecture, resulted in a state-of-the-art facility equipped to handle the unique needs of a high-security financial environment.
Key Features:
- ArmorCore® Bullet-Resistant Panels: To ensure maximum security, ArmorCore® bullet-resistant fiberglass panels were strategically installed in areas requiring extreme protection. These areas included the safe room, teller counters, the back of the house, and areas near the ATMs. This high-security feature provides robust protection against potential threats.
- Bandit Barriers: To enhance the safety of the teller counters, “Bandit Barriers” were installed. These barriers serve as an extra layer of security while maintaining clear visibility for client monitoring, balancing security with functionality.
Additional Highlights:
- Enhanced ATM Security: Following the success of a previous collaboration with TPG Architecture on MCU’s Harlem location, where a 24-hour ATM center was created with a custom glass folding partition, similar security enhancements were implemented in this project. These measures ensure secure and accessible services for MCU members around the clock.
The rebuild of the MCU Flagship in Queens stands as a testament to Talisen Construction’s expertise in creating secure, efficient, and modern financial institutions. By integrating advanced security features with thoughtful design, Talisen has provided MCU with a flagship location that meets the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
