Helene Holland
Project Engineer
Helene’s interest in construction first peaked while obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Urban Design & Architecture Studies at NYU, where she found herself particularly drawn to the technical side of the field, often spending time reading and analyzing construction drawings. While Helene enjoys the creative aspects of architecture, she finds equal fulfillment in the technical problem-solving that construction demands. This curiosity led her to explore opportunities in the construction industry and ultimately brought her to Talisen, where she is now a full-time project engineer.
As a Talisen Project Engineer, Helene collaborates closely with the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager during all stages of the bid, buy, and build processes, handling bid coordination, subcontractor communications, and project documentation. Her role involves supporting the team in managing RFIs, submittals, and schedules, ensuring accurate vendor management, and assisting with project closeouts, all while maintaining a safety-focused environment.
A standout moment in Helene’s career thus far involved working for an architecture firm in Paris. Getting to build a model and work entirely in French taught her a lot about project execution, cross-cultural communication, and learning as you work.
Outside of her professional life, Helene enjoys drawing and creating art as she finds it to be both a creative outlet and a meditative activity. She also enjoys applying her technical skills to architectural renderings, appreciating the process of bringing intricate details together and seeing the entire process come together at the end.
"I love that every day at Talisen brings something new, requiring both creative problem-solving and teamwork. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of the process, from building a space to seeing the final product come to life."
