Sara Galarza
Project Engineer
Growing up in a family environment steeped in the building industry, Sara Galarza developed a passion for construction at a young age. She pursued a degree in Architecture from the International University of Ecuador, where she discovered a particular fascination for the mechanical aspects of architecture. Sara’s interest in HVAC systems and the intricacies of construction management led her to explore the field further, ultimately bringing her to Talisen Construction as a Project Engineer.
In her role at Talisen, Sara collaborates closely with the project team during all construction phases. Her responsibilities involve managing bid coordination, facilitating subcontractor communications, and ensuring project documentation is thorough and accurate. Sara actively supports the team with RFIs, submittals, and project schedules and plays a vital role in maintaining a streamlined, safety-conscious work environment.
One of Sara’s most significant career milestones was earning her certification in interior design, which broadened her expertise and underscored her multifaceted skill set. She also actively contributed to academic workshops and participated in the Pan-American Architecture Biennial, which enriched her understanding of architecture and design on an international scale.
Outside of work, Sara is an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. She finds that staying active helps her unwind, providing a much-needed outlet for relaxation and stress relief.
"My favorite part of my position at Talisen is being deeply involved in the entire project lifecycle. From the initial estimating phase to collaborating with subcontractors, I find immense satisfaction in seeing how each element comes together. I enjoy visiting job sites, where I can witness firsthand the progress and address any challenges that arise in real-time."
