Talisen Gives Back: The Bowery Mission & Guardians of Rescue

Giving Back to the community is part of building the best possible tomorrow.

At the end of 2016 the Talisen team had the chance to volunteer their time with The Bowery Mission and Guardians of Shelter. Dedicated to building New York’s Best Possible Tomorrow, Today we were thrilled to be able to give back to our community in this way.

We were fortunate enough to feed 315 people at The Bowery Mission just before New Years, as well as build 4 dog houses for the Guardians of Shelter.

The Bowery Mission has served homeless and hungry New Yorkers since 1879, when its neighborhood came to define the term “skid row.” Their children’s programs, called Mont Lawn Camp and Mont Lawn City Camp, serve at-risk youth and began in 1894 by giving the children of recent immigrants the chance to escape the tenements in the summer.

Today, The Bowery Mission is a results-oriented organization that is recognized as one of New York City’s most effective.

The Guardians of Rescue is comprised of men and women from a multitude of backgrounds, who share in a love for animals and an appreciation of the special role they play in our lives. Their members bring with them a wide array of skills and experiences with which to contribute to our common goal of helping animals and people. The Guardians’ programs are designed to provide assistance in a broad range of scenarios, to educate and motivate, and to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.
